<b>Modem configuration</b><p>
The first time you install Solo you need to configure your - is used if you are using a PABX and you need to place a digit, for example a 9, to obtain an outside line. For home use you should leave this blank.<p>

<b>Tone</b> - select this as the default. It the modem does not seem to respond then follow the test in the pulse set-up below.<p>

<b>Pulse</b> - You can tell this by switching a phone to tone mode, and then dialling any digit. If the tone does not switch from a dialling tone, then you are connected to a pulse exchange and you should select this option from the menu.<P>

<b>Modem type</b> - select your modem manufacturer and type from the available list. If yours is not listed then select Hayes Compatible.<p>

<b>Com Port</b> - select the Com Port you have connected your modem to. If you are unsure about this then consult your PC user guide.<p>

<b>Speed</b> - select from the choices available. If your modem speed is not supported, then select the next highest modem speed rather than the next slower speed, as your modem can automatically decrease it's speed, but not increase it. If you are unable to connect, try selecting a lower speed.<p>

Once you have entered all the user details you can connect to the Solo service.<p>
